A leading provider of essential air and water services across the UK is seeking a Trainee Surveyor to join their growing team. The company specialises in delivering cost-effective compliance solutions across various industries through detailed surveys and analyses.
As part of this role, you will work with a dynamic SME, conducting surveys and risk assessments for a national customer base. Your work will ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines, requiring strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety practices. The role demands flexibility, as travel, overnight stays, and working from the head office may be required. Enhanced DBS and high-level security clearance are essential.
Core Responsibilities
Ventilation - Primary Tasks
Conduct ventilation system air hygiene risk assessments and surveys.
Perform LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) testing and inspections.
Inspect and test ventilation system fire dampers.
Manage work allocation, data collection, and report writing.
Secondary Tasks
Measure grease levels in kitchen extract systems and perform grease filter cleaning.
Clean and disinfect ductwork.
Conduct indoor air quality testing.
Perform fire damper testing.
Carry out occasional technician duties.
Essential Qualities
Adaptability and ability to handle changing priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Practical problem-solving ability.
Health and safety awareness.
Proficiency in IT systems.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Health and safety experience.
Enhanced Level 2 security clearance (or ability to obtain it).
Flexibility to work unsocial hours, travel, or stay overnight when required.
Beneficial Experience & Qualifications
Experience in facilities management.
Background in HVAC or ventilation system installation/maintenance.
P600 qualification (training provided if required).
P601 qualification (training provided post-probation).
Remuneration & Benefits
Salary: £31,605.00 - £34,650.00 per annum.
15% uplift for South East postcodes.
